Mark Armbruster is one of Southern California’s leading land use attorneys. He has successfully worked on numerous major real estate development projects in the region since 1978. Mark received his B.S. degree in political science from UCLA in 1971 and his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1977.
Through his expertise in the land use area, Mark brings years of experience and credibility with elected officials, their staffs and departmental staffs within the City of Los Angeles, the County of Los Angeles, and numerous other municipalities in the Southern California area. Mark has led entitlement teams in numerous complex entitlement cases including the 1.5 million square-foot Century Plaza Hotel project, the over 1 million square-foot mixed use MGA entertainment project in Chatsworth, the three most recent entitlements for high rise projects on Wilshire Boulevard in Westwood, over 3 million square feet of high-tech flex industrial buildings for Cypress Land Company, plus numerous other projects.
Mark has also overseen the entitlements for various schools and institutions, including Marlborough School, Stephen S. Wise Middle School, Milken Schools, The Willows Community School, Bel Air Presbyterian Church, and the Mirman School for Gifted Children. Mark represents projects in numerous Southern California areas, including the City of Los Angeles, Calabasas, Malibu, County of Los Angeles, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Cypress and others.
Mark served as President of the City of Los Angeles Environmental Affairs Commission for six years and on the Board of Directors of Bel Air Country Club. He and his wife are actively involved with many civic activities, including the Los Angeles Zoo, St. John’s Hospital, and Los Angeles Police support organizations. In 2013, the Los Angeles Business Journal recognized Mark as a top real estate lawyer in its “Who’s Who in L.A. Law.”
