Managing partner Dale Goldsmith specializes in land use, real estate, and administrative matters. Dale has assisted clients in obtaining necessary governmental approvals for over 50 million square feet of residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional development projects all over California.
He has been, and continues to be, involved in a number of high profile development projects, including USC’s five million square-foot master plan for its University Park Campus, Apple’s new office campus in Culver City and Los Angeles, the Hollywood & Vine mixed use, transit-oriented development that includes a W Hotel, Trammell Crow’s one million square-foot e commerce facility in Compton, the Los Angeles Galaxy’s soccer stadium in Carson, Thomas Properties’ two million square-foot Campus El Segundo office project, the expansion of Fox Studios in Century City, Onni’s 1.5 million square-foot Times Mirror Square Project, United Airlines’ Terminal 6, 7, and 8 projects at LAX, Rand Corporation’s Santa Monica headquarters, Waste Management’s state-of-the-art waste transfer station at the Bradley Landfill, Macerich’s redevelopment of Santa Monica Place, numerous Costco’s across California, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Arts in Los Angeles, the renovations of Dodger Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, and the Los Angeles Lakers’ headquarters and training facility in El Segundo.
Dale has developed particular expertise in the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and is a widely recognized as one of the state’s leading CEQA practitioners. He has helped protect hundreds of environmental impact reports and other CEQA documents against administrative and legal challenges.
In 2013, the Los Angeles Business Journal recognized Dale as a top real estate lawyer in its “Who’s Who in L.A. Law.” In 2014, the leading legal publication Daily Journal named Dale one of its Top 50 Development Lawyers in California and one of its Top 100 Lawyers in California across every practice area.
Dale was born and raised in Los Angeles. He received his B.A. cum laude with departmental honors in economics and political science from Yale University and his J.D. from the University of Chicago.
